Document Management
Uploading Documents for Clients
When you prepare a document for a client (a completed filing, a report, a signed form), upload it through the portal so it's available in their account.
- Go to Documents in the sidebar.
- Click Upload Document.
- Select the client and document type.
- Choose your file and click Upload.

Making Documents Visible to Clients
By default, uploaded documents are internal only — clients can't see them until you explicitly share them.
- Find the document in the Documents list.
- Click the document to open its detail view.
- Toggle Visible to Client to on.
- The client will be able to see and download it immediately.
TIP
Only share a document with a client when it's final and ready for their use. Internal drafts should remain hidden.
Reviewing Client Uploads
When a client uploads a document, you'll receive a notification. To review it:
- Go to Documents and filter by Pending Review.
- Click the document to view or download it.
- Select Accept if it's correct, or Reject if something is wrong.
- If rejecting, add a short note explaining what the client needs to fix and re-upload.
The client is notified automatically of your decision.
Linking Documents to Tasks
Documents can be linked to a specific compliance task so everything stays organized.
- Open the task detail page.
- Scroll to the Documents section.
- Click Link Document and select the file from the list (or upload a new one).
Linked documents appear on both the task and the client's Documents page.
